St Columba’s-by-the-Castle, Edinburgh
Almost every aspect of modern life gets in the neck during this slick 90-minute review. It is one big laugh from start to finish, with gags, music and song coming so thick and fast it leaves the senses reeling. The overall effect is ordered and carefully planned chaos in which each skit, song and piece of business fits slickly and sweetly into the next. Jan Ravens, Steve Brown and Nick Wilton can be rated amongst the top entertainers at this year’s Fringe. It is difficult to choose any favourite sketches from such a well-produced show but two in particular leap to the forefront – the television quiz show take-off and the final number, “Cheers and Div” (Chas and Dave) in concert… they are uproarious.
